Introduction to CTBU

Chongqing Technology and Business University (CTBU) is a multidisciplinary university of economics, management, literature, technology, law and sciences, with distinctive characteristics of finance and economics. Composed of Nan’an and Jiangbei campuses, it has 22 schools (teaching centers), and 2 independent schools with 2,100 faculty members and over 30,000 full-time undergraduates and graduates. CTBU offers 76 undergraduate programs, among which there are 4 national featured specialties, 3 municipal featured disciplines and 20 municipal featured specialties; 8 category disciplines of postgraduate programs for applied economics, business and administration, environmental science and engineering, etc.; 1 doctor program, 1 post-doctoral program and 1 post-doctoral research station.

CTBU is one of the universities with key support by “Basic Ability Enhancement Project for Universities in Western and Central China”.

CTBU has 2 of the first institutions in China that have been approved by the Ministry of Education of China to run Sino-foreign joint degree programs.

CTBU is the closest university to the city proper of Chongqing.

重庆工商大学（CTBU）是经济学、管理学、文学、工学、法学、理学等学科协调发展的、具有鲜明财经特色的多科性大学。学校目前拥有南岸、江北两个校区，下设22个学院（中心）教学单位，2个独立学院，现有教职员工近2100人，本科生和研究生30000余人。全校设有本科专业76个，其中4个国家级特色专业、3个市级特色学科专业群、20个市级特色专业；有应用经济学、工商管理、环境科学与工程等8个一级学科硕士学位授权点，其中应用经济学、工商管理两个学科获重庆市立项建设一流学科；1个博士项目，1个博士后科研流动站，1个博士后科研工作站。

About MBA Program

Duration: 2 years

This program, taught in English, aims to cultivate professionals with international perspective and entrepreneurial spirit, well-adjusted to the demands of economic globalization. Focusing on theory and practice, it integrates classroom teaching, seminar, and business visit to enhance students’ ability to manage decision. The participants who complete all required courses and program will be conferred an MBA degree from the university.

Objective: To adapt to the new situation of economic globalization and the need for high-level management personnel, we strive to cultivate high-level international business management talents and industry elites with modern management knowledge and ability, international and strategic vision, as well as pioneering and innovative awareness.

Living at CTBU

Located at southern bank of the Yangtze River, CTBU enjoys very convenient public transport. From the main gate of CTBU, you can go to the airport, train station, major business areas and shopping centers by mono-rail train, buses and taxi. As the only municipality in western part of China, Chongqing is a modern city with a strong flavor of traditional Chinese culture. The rapid development of the city has brought a lot of convenience and pleasure to the residents. The mono-rail network connects all the districts of Chongqing and Line 3 runs at the gate of CTBU. Museums, Grand Opera House, shopping malls, movie theaters and restaurants make life very interesting and amazing. You would also be able to enjoy various outdoor activities. In Chongqing, there are many historical sites as well as beautiful natural scenery, where you can enjoy river cruise touring and relax in deep forests.

CTBU provides international student apartments on campus，where it is convenient to make friends who come from many other countries. The campus boasts a good environment and pleasant atmosphere where you can both live and study. Each apartment accommodates two students with separate bedroom, and a shared sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. The apartment is equipped with air conditioner, microwave oven, refrigerator and induction cooker. You will also have facilities such as a TV, lounge and gym. Laundry and clothes drying services are available at very low price. Near the international students’ apartment are cafeteria, grocery shops and printing rooms. Students can choose from a range of different Chinese and Western food in the five cafeterias on campus. Very close to the campus you will find supermarket, post offices and banks which will make your life easy.

Scholarship:

CTBU helps outstanding students apply for the Chongqing Mayor’s Scholarship.

The application deadline is March 30th in the year of entry.

Chongqing Mayor’s Scholarship: RMB30,000/year (Priority is given to deducting tuition)

President’s Scholarship: The 1st class scholarship covers 100% of the tuition.

The 2nd class scholarship covers 50% of the tuition.

The 3rd class scholarship covers 30% of the tuition.
